Scrap Your Stash Blog Hop (WITH Video)

Hey, welcome to my blog! I'm Becki. If this is your first time visiting me you can learn a little more about me on my "about me" page and see some more of my work on my "gallery" page.
I hope you've made your way here from Suzanna's blog. I'm guessing that if you're a scrapbooker one of your goals for scrapbooking in 2016 may be to make a dent in your stash of supplies. You've come to the right blog hop, if that's the case. We're all showing you examples of what we've creating using items from our stashes.
This time I used the Star Student collection from Bella Blvd to create a layout about my son receiving the student of the month award at his school. I created a process video as I created this layout. I think you'll enjoy seeing how this project came together.

I'm kinda partial to this little man, he's my baby.

If you don't have these exact items in your stash, no problem. This design can easily be replicated with patterned papers that are bright primary colors. The chipboard title can easily be replaced with any letter stickers or even letters that you've die cut with a die cutting machine.

If you like this layout/process video you'll love THIS layout and video that I created for a stash busting hop last year. Your next stop on the hop is Christene Meyer. I know she'll have something amazing for you!

Handmade Valentines

I love Valentines Day not as a mushy romantic holiday but as a fun holiday where we have a family dinner and celebrate my little girl's birthday. We have such a fun time celebrating Valentines Day. The kids and I spend lots of time making and sending Valentines. The Valentines I have to share with you today were created with the Valentina collection from Bella Blvd. This collection has a great traditional color palette with whimsical graphics, flamingos, donuts, and glasses. It's SO much FUN!
Pink and white bakers twine and a pink button are the perfect addition to the border of this card. This is a technique I use often on my cards.
This card features a hand cut pink heart and some hand stitching with bright pink embroidery thread.
The last card in this set features a 3x4 journaling card that I trimmed down to fit on the front of the card. I adhered the 3x4 card with foam dimensional adhesive over crochet thread that I wrapped around the card base.
Have a great Monday! Do you create your own handmade Valentines? I'd love to see what you create! Leave a link in the comments.

Books, Crochet Hearts, and Kids journaling

Hey friends! Today I thought I'd share a layout with you that contains: books, crochet hearts, and kids journaling. I created this layout a while ago. I'm not sure why I didn't share it. I often create layouts about my daughter reading because she's always reading, that's just want she does. The other day when she walked into my office (aka, the corner of our master bedroom) I handed her a journaling card and told her to write down her 5 favorite books. It wasn't easy for her to choose only 5 but she wrote them down.

DIY Mini Valentines Pinata's

I received product in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
Yes, Valentines Day will be here before you know it. The next few weeks at our house are crazy with school activities, birthdays, and other events. I created these cute DIY Mini Valentines Pinata's to get a jump start on my Valentines Day projects. These pinata's are SO easy and fun to create. This would be a great project to include your children with.

Each year for Valentines Day we have a fun dinner at home with our kids. We prefer hanging out at home on Valentines night instead of braving the crowded restaurant scene. I created a mini pinata for each of my kids. I plan on putting a mini pinata on each of the kids plates for our Valentines dinner. Each pinata is filled with fun Valentines treats for each kid.

These pinatas are so easy to make. The fringe comes with the adhesive already on it. All you have to do is peel the backing off and stick it to the pinata.

I combined these pinata's with die cuts from the new "Be Mine" collection from Pebbles. I adhered the die cuts with dimesional foam adhesive tape.

If you love these pinata's you'll love the pinata's that Amy over at The Happy Scraps created.
